ePrescribing Formulary Alternatives

When adding an ePrescription that isn't covered by a patients insurance, DoseSpot will show you alternative formula's for the drug. For example, there are three main parts of interest when prescribing and looking for alternatives:

I've numbered each part in the screen shot, which are as follows:

1. Coverage details for the patient (i.e. their insurance plan or plans)

2. What is being prescribed - in this case we chose ZyPREXA knowing it wouldn't be covered. Immediately, a suggested alternative will be shown below.

3. Alternatives; based on the Rx you are trying to prescribe it will check the formulary status and then suggest Therapeutic Alternatives based on the coverage on file.

That's it. It's that simple - it all happens automatically as you're prescribing.
